Rename Journal: 《亞洲廣電與新媒體研究》(Asian Broadcasting & New Media Research), New Website Launches in May 2024

 

The Journal of Audio-visual Meida and Technologies, published by the Department of Radio and Television at National Chengchi University for 33 years, has been renamed to Asian Broadcasting & New Media Research to reflect the research trends in emerging media and technology. The decision to rename the journal was made by Professor Trisha T.-C. Lin and the editorial board. Additionally, the journal's website has introduced an automated submission and review system. We welcome submissions from academia. The new website can be accessed at: https://abnmr.nccu.edu.tw/

 

Asian Broadcasting & New Media Research aims to become an international bilingual journal in the fields of broadcasting and new media. It seeks to facilitate academic exchange and cooperation and promote the development of communication studies in Asia. Submissions of academic research articles, book reviews, and other manuscripts related to broadcasting, television, film, visual media, and telecommunications are welcome in both English and Chinese. We encourage scholars and friends to register as members and submit their work.

 

 


 

In 2022, Journal of Audio-visual Meida and Technologies achieved notable recognition by securing the third place in the “Long-term Communication Award” evaluated by journal citation impacts, as awarded by the National Central Library of Taiwan. This honor emphasizes the journal’s sustaining influence and contribution in the field of communication research in Taiwan.

Journal of Audio-visual Meida and Technologies call for Chinese and English academic articles regarding broadcasting and new media

 

Dear academic friends, Wish you all have a joyful kick start of this fantastic 2020!

Since being published in 1992, Journal of Radio and Television has been an important venue for rigorous academic papers regarding radio, television, film, communication industry, and new media. In 2019, this long established, reputed journal, ranked third in articles’ citation numbers in the field of humanities, social science and communication, according the National Library’s annual ranking of academic journals in Taiwan. 

 

After Professor Trisha Lin (Director of the Department of Radio & Television, National Chengchi University) took over the editor-in-chief in late 2019, she has expanded the editorial board, repositioned the journal, and revamped its website. The English journal name was changed to Journal of Audio-visual Meida and Technologies to emphasize the significance of new media technologies in communication. Several well-known communication scholars in Taiwan and abroad were invited to join journal’s editorial team.

 

Currently, Journal of Audio-visual Meida and Technologies positions itself as an international Chinese-English bilingual journal with the research scope of broadcasting, television and new media. The launch of Journal of Audio-visual Meida and Technologies website will be in February 2020(http://amt.nccu.edu.tw/) has been launched online in February 2020, while the 40th volume of this journal is expected to be published in March 2020. Original and innovative academic research articles related to radio, television, film, photography, video, new media, and the Internet are welcome to submit here. We accept both Chinese and English research articles, as well as book reviews. We welcome articles which can systematically analyze trends of electronic media and digital communication, promote the development of academic knowledge, or respond to practical problems of communication industry and society.  Journal of Audio-visual Meida and Technologies accepts theoretical papers or empirical articles, with different research methods, especially interdisciplinary work.

 

Journal of Audio-visual Meida and Technologies strictly adheres to international academic norms; that is, all submissions will go through a rigorous double-blind review process.
